The Kingbird originally reported by Bruce Fall at Murphy-Hanrehan was present this morning from about 9:15 to 10:20 am, hawking and preening in treetops just north and west of trail marker 36.
At about 10:12 the bird made a Tropical Kingbird call, perhaps in response to a cowbird intruding near its perch. Bruce was there at the time, as well as Dick Miller, and the three of us were able to hear the call and even see the bird making the call.
