Louisville Swamp in Scott County is a popular site for Metro birding. How
will our experience there be affected by proposed silica-sand mines
totaling 1200 acres on its border? Silica mines can bring blasting,
constant truck traffic and silica dust in the air.

There will be an EIS scoping meeting held on March 13th in the Scott County
Board Room at 9:30 AM to gather public comments on issues that will be
considered within the Merriam Junction EIS (the smaller of two proposed
sand mines).
