The Birds of Ecuador (and Galapagos)
*
David Cahlander will present a photo talk about the birds of Ecuador (and
the Galapagos) on September 26. David visited Ecuador (and the Galopagos)
with VENT in 2001. Photographed birds include many species of hummingbird,
parrot, aracari, tanager and kite plus other birds seen from the canopy.
The Galapagos photos include the Darwin finches that exist only on these
islands. Also shown are nesting albatross and boobys. Enjoy a birding trip
at the equator - in the comfort of the Minnesota Wildlife Refuge
Headquarters auditorium. (Photographs images from Ecuador and the
Galapagos.)

*All meetings are free and open to the public.  Seating is limited, but not
expected to be an issue at this meeting.*

*When: *Please join us from *7:00-7:30 pm *to socialize over cookies. A
brief business meeting and the featured speaker begin at *7:30 pm*. The
meeting will conclude before 9:00 pm.

*Where: *Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center 3801
American Blvd E, Bloomington. Accessible by Hiawatha Light Rail line, get
off at the American Blvd. stop.

*DRIVING DIRECTIONS: * The Visitor Center is *not* accessible from Hwy
494 & 34th Ave.  From I-494 take the *24th Ave. exit*  – go south to
American Blvd; turn left (east) go past 34th Ave. and go 2 blocks. The
Center will be on your right.  Even though you can exit at 34th Ave from
westbound I-494 crossing the Minnesota River, you can not turn south on
34th Ave, but will be directed to 24th Avenue.  From northbound Hwy 77
(Cedar) crossing the Minnesota River, you can not exit on 24th Avenue.  You
need to exit at Old Shakopee Road and follow it to American Blvd, where you
can turn right on to American Blvd.
