Hey birders,

Trent Robbins, a friend from church and non-birder (so far), dropped me an
email this morning about what he thought was a Northern Hawk-Owl sitting in his
spruce. After calling him and talking to him, I could not dissuade him from
his identification--he had viewed it with 10x binoculars from about 60 feet. I
checked it out around 1pm and the bird was beautifully perched in one of his
neighbor's trees.

The bird was there again this afternoon at 2:30pm. Bob Dunlap's directions are
excellent. The bird has not been perching on treetops but rather below the
crown. I will try to post pictures soon.

Happy birding!

P.S. This bird means that I've seen Pine Siskin, Common Redpoll, White-winged
Crossbill, and Northern Hawk-Owl within 10 miles of my house since Sunday!
