Shortly after sunrise with calm winds, visited the WMA in Mulligan township
(far southern Brown County). About 1/2 mile west of County 8 on 110th
Street, at the green gate on north side of road, spotted two Nelson's and 6
Le Conte's Sparrows. The Nel

I had good looks at three Nelson's Sparrows this morning at the Wildlife
Management Area one mile west and three-fourths miles north of Winnebago,
Faribault County. The birds were in the newly restored prairie at the bottom
of
the hill and to the left of
Found yesterday by Minn Birding Weekends group on 150th Ave, 1 mi west and 0.2
mi south of Waubun. Le Conte's Sparrows also here.

John Hockema just called to report that he and Dedrick Benz found a
Nelson's Sparrow at Whitewater Wildlife Management Area in Wabasha County.
The bird was seen by walking along the dike about 200 yards out from CR 74.
The dike begins near fire number 14947. This is apparently a first county
record

Late this morning I found a Nelson's Sparrow at the Pelican Lake WPA east
of Albertville. As far as I can tell, this represents a first county
record.

I located a Nelson's Sparrow at 3:00 pm on 230th Ave NW between 10th and 20th
St SW at Lubenow WPA just NW of Appleton. The bird was in the short grass
between the road and the water.

Around 11:00 a Nelson’s Sparrow was observed in the reeds out from the restroom
building at the Ramsey Co. beach off of Hwy. 96 in the northwest part of White
Bear Lake. A second nearby sparrow was flushed at the same time, but it did
not allow identification.

Around 10:30 a.m. today I refound two of the Nelson's Sparrows at the White
Bear Lake Beach. As before, they were in the grass between the bathhouse and
the beach.

This morning at 9:45 AM I found a Nelson's Sparrow at the Main Property of
Dodge Nature Center, Mendota Heights. The sparrow flushed out of some
marsh grass about 20 meters from the South end of the floating
Boardwalk. This is on the N-S trail that leads from the Little Red School
House across th
I'm listening to a singing Nelson's Sparrow right now at Crosby Farm Park
in St. Paul. The bird is singing from the cattails on the east side of the
boardwalk, opposite the wooden dock and blind, on the west side of the park.

A Nelson's Sparrow is at the end of the boardwalk at Old Cedar Avenue,
Bloomington (8:30 am Sunday morning). It has given us several great looks at it
moved through the reeds on both sides of the boardwalk.
