Hi,
Early this evening I observed a Red Knot from the viewing platform on 260th
St at the North Ottawa impoundment. It was with a Black-bellied Plover
still in nearly full breeding plumage, 2 American Golden-plovers and 2
Sanderlings. This small flock disappeared while I was retrieving my

Red Knot in the large SW Albany WTP cell, all the way
across in the NNW sector amid the rip-rap and weed
growth where it can be easily hidden. Found 7:45am by
Josh Christian, with John Hockema and Tom Hosch.

Over the lunch hour, I ran out to Albany – spent about an hour scoping the rock

I’m not sure how much this means. Around here right now there’s a stiff wind
out of the NW (varying from 15 to 25 mph), which makes longer-distance scope

This morning, Kyle Peterson posted images taken yesterday afternoon at the
Albany Waste Treatment Plant of a juvenile Red Knot. The pictures are on the
Minnesota Birding Photography Facebook page. If anyone is in the area, it
would be interesting to know if it is still there, or if the winds
the shelter building is probably at the intersection where 330 Ave used to be.
the north border of the impoundment is 260th St and the south border is 240th

Butch Ukura and John Richardson just located a Red Knot at the Ottawa
Impoundments in Grant County. It is with a large group of shorebirds on
the north side of the impoundment(260th St) east of an overlook shelter.
This appears to be a 2nd county record.

I observed a breeding adult Red Knot early this morning out from the Old Cedar
Avenue Bridge observation platform. It was in with a large mixed flock of
shorebirds predominantly Dunlins on the southern most fludflats.
When I came out the parking lot was filled with major construction
While walking along the Park Point beach about 200 yards north of the
airport yesterday morning, I saw one Red Knot with in a mixed flock of 5
Ruddy Turnstones, 5 Semipalmated Plovers, several Sanderlings, 20+
