I spent a few hours today at Wild River State Park in Chisago County. When I arrived at the visitor center, there was a noisy red-shouldered hawk soaring low over the parking lot. I had to wait an hour but the the Carolina wren finally made an appearance giving a nice look. Lots of fox sparrows plus juncos, tree sparrows, song sparrows, bluebirds, waxwings and two eagles on the nest at the river. 28 species in 3 hours.
