Despite shared disappointment over the DNR's dismantling of the
feeding stations on public property, a birding companion and I enjoyed
a fine day in the bog Sunday. The dismantled station sites were still
being visited by a large number of birds, some of them seed-eaters,
and others still seeking
Birded up in the bog for a few hours this PM.
No great grey owls seen on McDavitt today. I had a second hand report of a
great grey seen early this AM on Stone Lake Road. No sightings later in the day.
Nice looks at new and old hawk owls.

My fiance and I spent three hours in the bog this afternoon, and we came up
with the following sightings:
Hoary Redpoll - Admiral Rd. feeding station
Gray Jays - Admiral Rd. feeding station (NO Boreal Chickadee here this evening)
Northern Hawk Owl - feeding on small rodent - Corner of
