Friends of Sax-Zim Bog is leading a field trip to the Bog on Tuesday October 8th. FREE to members who have donated $20 or more during the last 12 months. Cost is $20 for non-members, but this becomes your membership for the next 12 months (free field trips, discounts on merchandise, e-Newsletter, etc) 8am-11am or so. Meet OUTSIDE the Wilbert Cafe in Cotton MN (right on the west side of US53) at 8am. Leader will be Sparky Stensaas. We'll carpool. MUST RSVP! by emailing spa...@saxzim.org The Sax-Zim Bog is rarely birded in October so who knows what we'll find! Of course we'll head to McDavitt and Admiral Roads first to see if we can luck into a Great Gray, Boreal Chickadee or Black-backed Woodpecker. Sparrow migration should be in full swing too. Sandhill Cranes are often seen foraging in hayfields and meadows. Magpies are quite active this time of year too. We'll just have fun exploring the Bog.
