Around noon today there were 4 Spruce Grouse (3 m, 1 f) along the Fire
Tower Trail at Scenic State Park. All of the birds were in/under a couple
of jack pines on the west side of the trail, on the edge of the spruce
bog. This is just over a half mile up the trail from the road. They were
all very tolerant of being watched. Snow conditions on the trail are
excellent for snowshoeing and decent for hiking without snowshoes.
