A few minutes ago as I walked down our driveway to retrieve the mail, I was a bit startled to see a pair of swans fly over the neighbor's grove across the road from us. They were flying low and dropped down toward the fields to the south and out of sight. No idea whether trumpeter or tundra. Seems late , certainly no open water other than possibly the rivers Cobb or Maple. Aeration units were activated on Lura and Ida lakes on the 5th, but no open water as yet.
