[mou-net] Tree Swallows Question

2020-04-16 Thread Amy
I was watching a pair of Tree Swallows today near Pickerel Lake and saw a flight behavior I hadn't seen before. It looked like two bird were in a synchronized flight and then free fell together for a few seconds before separating. Is this some type of territorial display or courting display.

While birding in William O'Brien State Park we saw 1 Tree Swallow. Later, we saw 2 more on Chisago County 81 & 70.   Also noted were Fox Sparrows, Purple Finch, Rusty Blackbirds, Northern Flicker.   It will be "difficult" :-) to see warblers when the trees are already leafed out!   Sue Bergman B
