Hi All— Karl Bardon et al. recently posted an excellent photo of a possible Vega Gull in Duluth on the “Recently Seen” MOU page: http://moumn.org/cgi-bin/recent.pl.
I believe a photo I took in January 2011 is also of a Vega Gull. This photo, for the record, is on my blog and shows both a dark-mantled possible Vega and a lighter Herring Gull. At the time, I was itching to identify the Vega as a Slaty-backed Gull, but neither species landed on my lifelist. http://dantallmansbirdblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/slaty-backed-gull.html dan -- Dan or Erika Tallman Northfield, Minnesota daner...@gmail.com http://sites.google.com/site/tallmanorum http://dantallmansbirdblog.blogspot.com http://picasaweb.google.com/danerika The White Album: Portraits of Minnesota Birds<http://www.blurb.com/b/3992062-the-white-album-portraits-of-minnesota-birds-dan-t> Two Years Among the Odonates <http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/3467428> ".... the best shod travel with wet feet...Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes ....”—H.
