As of 6:30p.m. the WW Scoter was still in the small pond a few miles south
of Preston & about a half mile east of county roads 17 & 16. Thanks John &
Chris Hockema, Ray Pothoff, Dedrick Benz and all who posted this cool bird.

At 7:30AM Tuesday Morning, I was able to refind the White-winged Scoter in the
same farm pond on the south side of County Road 16, several miles south of
Preston. Also present were two Lesser Scaup with which it was cavorting,
several Wood Ducks, Canada Geese and Killdeer. Unfortunately the fa
Ron Erpelding called and said he had refound the White-winged Scoter on
Green Prairie Fish Lake, and the Summer Tanager on the north side of
Fishtrap Lake. The Summer Tanager was back where it was originally found at
house number 2441, but there are also crab apple trees next door at 2393, so
