I had a male Eastern Bluebird work his way across the yard today, a big
surprise for me as we are on the shore of Lake Waconia in a primarily wooded
lot.... FOY and new yard bird, too!

The rookery on the island in Lake Waconia is quite active with Great Blue
Herons, haven't seen any Egrets yet. The lake is still ice covered, but not for
long. A new crack formed today near shore, probably from the wind blowing
toward the north shore. Maybe it will open before all the W-F geese have moved
on, but doesn't seem too likely.
