Around 4:45 this afternoon I observed a lone White-winged Crossbill feeding atop a white spruce in the Upper Buford Circle area of the University of MN campus in St. Paul. The spruces on campus have a good crop of cones this winter so perhaps it'll stick around or even encourage more to stop by. There has also been a Brown Creeper in this area since January.
