Hi all. I am planning bringing my wife up to Duluth and Sax-Zim tomorrow and Monday. I've been up the last several winters, but this would be my wife's first trip up to look for owls and other northern specialties. (Snowy, Great Grey, and Northern Hawk would all be lifers for her. How exciting!) At any rate, I am concerned about the brutal cold that is headed our way. For you more experienced up north: does that extreme cold greatly reduce our chances of finding things? Unfortunately this is our only window to get up there for awhile, but it's difficult to commit to the trip if it's going to be too cold to be worthwhile. What have been your experiences in similar weather? Thanks in advance for the advice!
