I live in West Saint Paul and have had at least 1 nesting pair each summer for
the last 5 years. Most years they used the same birdhouse but this years but
this year they used the only one not emptied and cleaned! They fledged one
batch and I think ate working on another

There are several vocal and visible House wrens— as usual— at our home in Lake
Elmo.

I was at Afton yesterday and heard house wrens. Also at sisters house in
Byooklyn Park. We have at least two pairs that call frequently to each other at
farm here in Grant County. Waiting on fledglings here.

Many thanks to the 23 people who responded to my question about nesting House
Wrens.
Seven of us report wrens missing from usual locations. Others have wrens enough
to share.
I guess it just depends.

As usual, I have enough wrens to drive the bluebirds and chickadees out of my
boxes. It did seem that it took one of them many days of singing before a mate
was found to join him at the box.

Just the opposite. Have 2 breeding pairs of wrens. Normal is 0-1. Also, the
wrens and blue birds appear to be getting along with each other.

No shortage of House Wrens in my neighborhood in Northfield nor in any of
the other places I've been birding. In fact, I had been thinking that I've
been hearing *more* than usual.

We seem to have the usual number around our cabin north of Marine, but none
are using last year's successful birdhouse.

Yes. We’ve had a nest in our wren nest box in our backyard in Eagan for quite a
few consecutive years (8-10?). While I’ve seen an occasional wren this year,
and hear one calling, including this past weekend, we’ve seen no attempts to
nest.

It also occurs to me that wrens have been notably infrequent in my spring
birding walks at Murphy Hanrahan. Just one marsh wren on a 50+ afternoon of
three walks of 2 hours or more.

Yes, I have noticed and missed the number of House Wrens.
