Has anyone else seen this bird? I put a photo from last evening up on Showcase. I'd be grateful for any thoughts on its identity since I'm pretty rusty at my white-cheeked goose ID. From what I can remember, it doesn't seem right for the typical B. c. parvipes or B. h. hutchinsii, and seems too pale, large-billed and square-headed for B. h. minima. Its honk was high-pitched and yippy. Maybe somebody else can see it in better light under dry skies and have an easier time with the ID.
When I last saw it, it was near the rowing club docks with Canadas and Mallards at about 39th St South on Park Point. There's a photo of it refusing to frame up nicely with the larger Canadas here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/87096929@N06/8672055587/in/photostream/lightbox/ Chris Mansfield Duluth ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
