The highlight of Sunday’s Red Wing CBC for Erika and me was a Golden Eagle.
We were on the north terminus of Ski Road, south of the city. Distant

A relatively heavily barred snowy owl was photographed by a coworker in
Kroschel Township (T42N, R22W sec 32) yesterday (12/30/13) in NE Kana
Minnesota now has 80 reported Snowy Owl locations as of today. I went
through every known reported Snowy Owl report on the MOU listserv and eBird
map. I have not used any Facebook reports because there are so many sites

Today at 11:00 am (12/31/13) a Snowy Owl (imm.) on Renville CR 20 just north of
the intersection
with Renville CR 38, on a pole in front of farmstead # 84260.
It flew east from the pole to the top of a ridge about 300 yds. SE of the farm

I been reporting the Snowy Owl on the Riley Road this week and several
birders and photographers from all over have been enjoying this owl.
Yesterday I noticed a new sign "Private Property" erected on a pole next to
a open gate. I called Ulland Brothers Construction and I talked to one of
We drove by a Snowy Owl on a treetop at 4:40, just east of I-35 at mile marker
202 about 7 miles north of the exits for Sandstone and Banning State Park. It
was a brief look as we were on the interstate but it gave an unmistakeable view
of its white face and seemed heavily barred like a juvenile
I photographed a young female Snowy Owl on Polk County 20 - 2 miles south
of Sherack MN at 4:30pm.
