Finally had some time to work on the Snowy Owl Map and plugging in the new
owl sightings on the map.
As of right now Minnesota is up to 265 Snowy Owls reported in Minnesota. I
began with the first Snowy Owl reported in November of 2013 and began
plotting owl locations ever since on a Google map.

be sorting through all these reports and put them counties as far as how
many been reported in each county in the near future.

Hello,
After mapping out Bruce Fall's Snowy Owl locations in Dakota County along
with Steve Weston's, Drew Smith's and Blaine Seelinger locations there are
no fewer than 10 Snowy Owls in Dakota County. I suspect there will be more
owls moving into Dakota County. Birders should consider checking

I been reporting the Snowy Owl on the Riley Road this week and several
birders and photographers from all over have been enjoying this owl.
Yesterday I noticed a new sign Private Property erected on a pole next to
a open gate. I called Ulland Brothers Construction and I talked to one of
Adult male Harlequin Duck at the Mcquade Road Boat Launch. This is located
north east of Duluth along scenic highway 61.

Hello,
I updated the map to make it easier to use by creating a smaller Snowy Owl
icon to be used as markers to place the location of Snowy Owls in
Minnesota. I used the current ebird reports of all Snowy Owls reported in
Minnesota, MOU listserve and personal texts and emails from birders from

on 23rd Avenue East off Water Street near Beacon Point Hotel and Kim just
reported a female Barrow's Goldeneye in the same area just now.

The rain let up around 1:30pm and I decided to check the lake to see if any
shore birds were on the beach at Park Point and also to see if the warblers

Just saw a adult Mississippi Kite fly over my house. The kite was first
noticed to the east of my house circling over head possibly hunting dragonflies
and then it flew directly over our house and then circled again and then headed
towards Morgan Park or to the neighborhood west of our house.
I added a photo to Recently Seen and I wanted to add more but you are only
allowed one per day. Also its listed as Western Kingbird because I ad to
according to the set up.

I been watching the Whooper Crane dialog and the bottom line is that the MOU
listserv and the MOU-RBA listserv should ask birders to NOT post Whooping Crane

I was at the Thomas residence at 1:00pm and saw the Black-headed Grosbeak at

Today I went over to WI Pt. to visit the Wisconsin Society of Ornithologists
and see what I missed or possibly see what they are seeing. AS soon as I
arrived a juv. Parasitic Jaeger literally flew right along the beach offering
close up views! In fact thru out the morning the jaeger was
Shawn Zierman and I were birding and doing some photography at Park Point
recreational area. Shawn spotted a Northern Mockingbird on one of the trees in
front of the volleyball courts. This Northern Mockingbird is most likely the
same individual that Peder Svingen found last Thursday.
