It sounds like you're looking for roaming support.  Mozilla doesn't
yet have it, but hopefully will in the not-too-distant future.  There
are several bugs filed about this; search at bugzilla.mozilla.org to
find them.  Additionally, there was some pre-implementation
brainstorming in the .prefs newsgroup a month or so ago.
