I am a brand new user of Mozilla Firefox. I accidentally deleted all my passwords from Firefox,(Tools, Options, "Clear all information stored while browsing"), which had been automatically transferred from Netscape 7.1, during installation of Firefox. I still have Netscape on my computer (Win XP Pro), and the passwords are still there. How can I transfer those passwords from Netscape?

You could try copying over the "<random>.s" file from your Netscape profile to your Firefox profile. The <random> part might be different--if your Firefox profile has an empty .s file overwrite it. If you don't have one go to about:config and see what the "sigon.SignonFileName" is set to and use that name.

Assuming you haven't changed your "master password" (and that your Netscape passwords were encrypted rather than obscured) that should work.

If it doesn't report back, there are a couple other things we could try.
