1] I think it is appalling that there is such little interest in this - it is a
viable alternative to MP3 - and
doesn't have the patent restrictions that our friends at Franhoffer put on it.

Sorry to write to this board, but it was my last resort to reach the authors
of the project... I wrote an email regarding this bug, and it's been already
one or two weeks, no response. So as i know Monty and the other developers
read this, i thought i'd share this with you...

Maybe asshole was a little too harsh, but I feel bad for some of the people

Hello all, hello in particular guys from Ogg Vorbis,
PLEASE forgive Roel! I don't know why you flame him in such an
aggressive way. His mail did not seem too aggressive to me! In the end
there were some good hints in his message, but please forgive him now!
He did more than apologizing, offering
Reading Roel's initial statement, and all the replies, I'd like to comment

You are inviting too much. I'd love to flame you, which I may do some day (maybe
right now). I cringe every time I see Roel VdB coming into my inbox. I know
it's going to be something that I find less than interesting. No one asked your

That's at best inflammatory, Roel. Why not just start off your next mail with
a few comments about my mother? :-P

The best thing so far about Ogg Vorbis has been the marketing.
I tested one file with the new b2, and even with -m6, the best possible
Vorbis setting, resulting in a 350kbit/s file it sounds poor.
There are obvious low-frequency bass distortions, which mp3 at
256kbit/s bitrate doesn't show.

I read the "usage" file in the 3.86 zip distribution, but all it says is
--ogg
Encode using the Ogg Vobis codec (using libvorbis) instead of LAME's internal mp3
codec.
What options are available for use with ogg encoding engine? Is there any doco on
this?
