Congratulations, you now have the right files.
Those are the static libraries which MSYS produces. You should be able
to use the libmpir.a and libmpirxx.a from MSVC. Just add them as
additional linker dependencies.

rather than these two you mentioned mpir.lib and mpirxx.lib.
This is the command i type.
./configure --enable-cxx
make clean
make
make check
