Would one of you folks kindly e-mail me (or post to the list, if you
wish) a description of the development and economics of supportive
housing? How does a building become supportive housing? If not
built for that, it is repurposed, yes? Is there a known process for
that, and what government agencies have influence over it?
I guess I'm trying to understand how it is that all the supportive
housing is clustered in a few neighborhoods. There are (I'm pretty
sure) none in my neighborhood, and I'd like to know more about why
that's so. No neighbor of mine, nor any neighborhood publication
I've seen, has ever addressed this topic in the 7 years I've lived
here.
Thanks in advance for any educational efforts you can make on my behalf.
Karen Cooper, trying to understand in Tangletown
