Hello,
I am wondering if any of you rely on DFSMShsm to do backups for MQSeries datasets
(logs, boot strap datasets, or page sets)?
Recently, we had a few issues with MQ on OS/390 because of HSM. Our MQ datasets are
SMS managed and are also setup to be backed up by HSM (I only recently b
We are integrating NT and OS/390 application using WMQI(AIX) in the middle.
Application on NT produces flat file, which consists from thousands of
records with identical structure.
We develop MQput utility, that splits flat file into messages - one message
per record.
It writes MsgID field into C

This seems quite straight forward. you'd need an MQInput Node to read the message, connect a Comput Node to this and then an MQOutputNode to the Compute node - you have three nodes in total. The MQoutput Node should have the following properites set:

Hi
Just wanted to send a quick THANKS!! for the idea of using a Compute node, it is the
type of solution I was looking for. I am beginning to play with it so to those that
offered, you may be hearing from me for a little further help:)
Thanks again!!

Morag,
thanks for the reply. The certificate I used was a free demo
certificate which didn't let me specify what should go into the DN. I guess
a real certificate would do this and the checks on me would be more
rigorous. If, like you say, the CA ensures the DN is acurate, then I

Dan,
If you are at WMQI v2.1 you could use the PROPAGATE function to put to
different queues within one compute node.
You would select each desired output queue via the following code:

Dan,
I'm assuming you are using different queue managers and have a couple of suggestions:
If you are able to alter the remote queue definition you are sending messages to so it delivers the messages to a different input queue on your partners machine you can then implement a message flow on th

I may have an answer or two for this scenario myself but I was hoping to get the

Tony,
I think there are two important points here that should help to ease your
worry.
a) If QM3 gets a valid certificate from XYZ, QM3's identity will have been
verified by XYZ, so he can't call himself whatever he wants, his DN does
have to be verified.
b) Mr Malicious could indeed get himself
