The TED text editor seems to have been created for a number of home computers:
the version I have is made to run on the old Atari 8 bits. Basically it's a
stripped down word processor (but it has some features that many WP's lack)
you can use it for either WP or Assembly editing.

Maarten: the power supply in many pc's is a switching type, and you would'nt
get any voltage with that type unless something is connected to it-you're
lucky it still worked after that!
