I think I worked out one case: if you have the map showing "no valid
position" and not displaying anything, changing areas will do nothing.
Only after you centerview on a room will it work.

Hi, sorry for the problem. It's been fixed and next Mudlet update after
2.0 will have the fix in.
As a workaround for now, you can use setTextFormat(miniconsole name,
...) for anyone else reading this.
