Hi Nicola,
Multisync used vcards internally for synchronization so the field
mapping was done in the ldap plugin. You can see the mapping table in
the ldap plugin src/vcard.c right in the beginning.

I dont think that this would be too easy. .pdb is the format of palm
database... so you would need to implement a logic which can read and
understand this format...
you could also look if the pilot-link libraries

Dbus is very appealing indeed.
I think if we were to use it we should not rely on the system or session
services so we would need to provide either a completly standalone
server or fallback to standalone if we cant connect to the session bus.

When i wrote my plugins i got errors like this when the memory got
corrupted. Can you use valgrind and look if there is anything suspicous?
(Or attach the output since it normally produces a very long list of
errors and it sometimes hard to tell which are real errors)

The problem here is that the palm does not support this description
correctly and therefor it will be lost when it is synced back.

Could you please try to modify the Optik Hähn contact and repleace all
umlaute with ae etc and try again.
My guess is that it fails because of the utf-8 encoding.

code is somewhat ugly (i will definetly fix this in 0.82).
