Well, it’s quiet here, why not…

Please check out my new series on sampling theory, and feel free to comment 
here or there. The goal was to be brief, but thorough, and avoid abstract 
mathematical explanations. In other words, accurate enough that you can deduce 
correct calculations from it, but intuitive enough for the math-shy.

I’m not trying to be presumptuous with the series title, “the best explanation 
you’ve ever heard”, but I think it’s unique in that it separates sampling 
origins from the digital aspects, making the mathematical basis more obvious. 
I’ve had several arguments over the years about what lies between samples in 
the digital domain, an epic argument about why and how zero-stuffing works in 
sample rate conversion here more than a decade ago, etc. I think if people 
understand exactly what sampling means, and what PCM means, it would be a 
benefit. And, basically, I couldn’t think of a way to titled it that didn’t 
sound like “yet another introduction to digital sampling”.
