Just that - telling people to add legal names to the annotation doesn't
really make a lot of sense anymore.

I'd probably change the title of that section slightly.
I just added a new artist to the database using their performance name.
Should I go ahead and create another entry for the legal name as well?

Artist Credits are only permitted in specific places, and in particular
are not supported for performance relationships and such. Aliases help
in a search, but aren't what you see when vi

I do have to stipulate though that a lot of performance names are only used
during set periods of time (e.g. 氷室京介 performed as 氷室狂介 from 1981 to 1988 while
he was active with BOØWY). You might want to include a guideline as such since
only the last section deals with this.

We're already a bit off-topic from the issue of legal name aliases by
talking about artist merges, but what if the performance name is just the
first name? I've been of the opinion it's beneficial to merge, say, a
"Lisa" into a "Lisa Smith", because it *is* clutter to have editors enter
"Lisa" int
