Wikidata (http://www.wikidata.org/), the linked-data project from
Wikimedia, now links to MBIDs, so there's no reason for us not to map back
to them. Additionally, we want to add Wikidata relationships to areas
(being added May 15) since we're getting datafrom them and thus we have the
mapping anyw

Would not Wikipedia links become redundant? Maybe we should do a some sort
of (semi-)automatic caching and the primary IDs would be Wikidata IDs?

And to reply, no, Wikidata won't supersede Wikipedia links for at least another
year or two. There are still plenty of articles and other objects that aren't
properly cross-linked to make replacing the existing Wikipedia links
problematic. For now I think it is best to just include Wik

Another obstacle to completely replace Wikipedia with Wikidata is, for the
excerpt text on works and artists, which language shall be picked for
display? Maybe use Accept-Language header plus english as fallback, but not
sure what if there's no english page then.

Just pointing out, RFVs don't actually need +1's in order to pass - this
happens automatically unless there are vetos. While it doesn't hurt, it's
probably better not to do them so that the RFV thread doesn't become
cluttered. :)
