gpg and mutt

Howdy, I am having trouble encrypting messages with mutt. Whenever I try to do so I get a prompt for a keyID but any ID I enter just makes it beep and do nothing I have ln -s gpg gpgm in /usr/bin/ as a faq I read said to do and yet the problem persists. My .muttrc has for gpg set
