with python's socket library. It should be fixed by now - and in any case, the worst that can happen is that offlineimap randomly crashes on large e-mails, but it will not lose email in the process. -- Vincent Beffara UMPA - ENS Lyon 46 Allée d'Italie 69364 LYON cedex 07 Tel: 04 72 72 85 2

is to have a local copy of them, using a tool like offlineimap, and then point mutt and mairix to the local maildir instead of the imap server. Plus you get offline access to your e-mail as a bonus! /v -- Vincent Beffara UMPA - ENS Lyon 46 Allée d'Italie 69364 LYON cedex 07 Tel: 04 72

Re: mutt+vim+putty ... long delay in opening vim(1) ?

2007-07-05 Thread Vincent Beffara
Through putty there is no X server, so that fails - after a timeout (X11 is network-oriented, one needs to wait for network lag). I am guessing that the timeout on your system is set to 20 seconds ... HTH, /v -- Vincent Beffara UMPA - ENS Lyon 46 Allée d'Italie 69364 LYON cedex 07 Tel: 04 72 72 85 25 Fax: 04 72 72 84 80

Re: mutt/offline-mode (imap)

I know it is not implemented there. One cool project could be a "virtual IMAP server" or "caching IMAP proxy" that does just that - I looked for one and found nothing ... If anyone knows one, please inform the list ! HTH, /vincent -- Vincent Beffara UMPA - ENS-Lyon 46 allée

Persistent collapse-all ?
