I ran into something similar recently. The problem was that I was syncing
through the cloud, but I was using the same file on a new computer, synced
through Syncplicity. I may even have had both open at one time.
My solution is that each computer has different files and both sync via
cloud.

I have a similar need in Evernote and use 'file://' before pasting the path
to the file or folder. This seems to be a standard way of linking files so
