Thanks, I've used Hide-in-todo when I don't want to see the steps but I
hadn't thought of gathering them all in a parent task so I don't have to
set it on each child separately.

works for me!).
I like the bit of GTD that says break tasks down into small parts - it
helps me try and focus on one thing at a time when I am working on that
tasks but I like to see the top level task in my main ToDo
