It is not possible to disable the reminders in MLO on desktop. However, we
have not been able to reproduce the issue. Please specify your steps and we
will test it again.
How long does it take for your MLO-desktop to start auto-syncing after you
open it? 0-1 minute or more?

It's not an issue. It's a problem. Some of us want to be able to shut off
the desktop apps reminders completely. This has been mentioned several
times previously
