Back on Aug 9, 2011, Mary Renaud posted the following:

"I'm noticing that the start date occasionally disappears on some of
the recurring tasks. I have yet to identify the variables that affect
whether/when this happens but will pay attention to see what I can
come up with. Is anyone else noticing anything like this?"

I have been noticing the same thing recently, and I too have not been
able to identify the variables that affect when this happens. I
believe it happens when I recur a task on my iPhone, but I am not 100%
certain of this. I usually notice that start date is set to "none" on
my desktop application.

For example, I will notice a recurring task on my desktop has a start
date equal to "none" and a Due Date = 2/11/2012. To set the start date
equal to the Due Date, I will press the "Recurrence" button, and then
I will note that the Start Date is already set to the Due Date in the
Task Recurrence dialog window (without me doing anything). I will
press "OK" in the Task Recurrence window, taking me back to the
Properties pane, and the Start Date is now set equal to the Due Date
(again, without me actually selecting a Start Date).

Over the past 2 weeks, I have noticed 4 different Recurring Tasks that
had Start Dates, but had their Start Dates set to "none" after
recurring. The characteristics of those 4 Recurring Tasks were as
follows:

recurs every 6 weeks (has subtasks)
recurs every week (has subtasks)
regenerate new task one week after completion (no subtasks)
recurs every week (no subtasks)

The advanced options for all fours of these recurring tasks were set
to:

Reset all subtasks to uncompleted
Disable automatic recurrence

I created 4 new test recurring tasks with identical characteristics to
the four described above. I have recurred all of these test recurring
tasks on my iPhone, but have been unable to reproduce the "Start Date
set to none" problem. Yet this problem keeps occasionally happening
for me.

Anyone else having this problem?

Ron
