I've got a spankin new server I'm about to put into production as a db
server with MySQL 5.0.
I've got two quad core processors, 16Gb ram and running 64bit OpenSuse 11.1.
This will only be a database server, no other functions.
The database on it will be primarily InnoDB tables and
May not have root access to remotely!
Try to reconfigure the parameters of the engine.
although it is not good idea to allow remote access to the root user!.
