We recently installed php and Mandrake 9. Php is no recognizing any of the mysql statements. On a working php installation the two extensions mysql.so and gd.so are in the /usr/lib/php/extensions directory. How does php create this directory for mysql. By unchecking the two extensions in

We recently upgraded to mysql 4.0 on Mandrake 9. When typing safe_mysqld mysql starts then immediately stops saying mysqld daemon ended. There are no other processes running. Tried installing 3.23 and the same thing. Reinstalled 3.22 and it stays started. What is not allowing mysql

Hello we are trying to upgrade from 3.22 mysql to 3.23 or 4.0 on Mandrake 9.0 Everytime the new version is installed when safe_mysqld is run it starts then stops both with 3.23 and 4.0. It also gives a message chown 'mysql' not a valid user. 3.22 stays started.Any ideas as to why.

We are wanting to upgrade to MYSQL 3.23 on a Linux system. Is there an upgrade from 3.22 to 3.23 or do I simply install 3.23 in the same directory where 3.22 was? Any help would be appreciated. - Before posting, please
