logging into mysql on mac os x

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to mysql and i'm trying to log into the mysql monitor from the terminal in mac os x (10.2.1). I was able to do it when i installed the system but for the life of me i can not figure out how to go back into it. Whenever i type the commands the articles i read say it never opens. I look in other books, type what they say and doesn't work.

Any ideas? what is the commands to log in?
