no.. i had an impression that the slowness can be perfectly measured only if i
have very less idle CPU.. My worries how to make MySQL to utilize the fullest
CPU time.. either in User/Nice mode.

Hello friends,
I'm using MySQL5 on RHEL5. From the top, i understood that the CPU is under
utlized by MySQL, whose idle time is around 37%. It is dedicated box for MySQL

You can use
$mysqldump dbname table1 [,table2,table3] >dumpfile[path] or $ mysqldump

Hello Mike,
AFAIK,
What you have specified is applicable only for tables! But for file in

Hi MySQLeers,
How can I setup multiple daemons, One daemon for one database? So that
they can act independenly. What might be the pitfalls over here?
In what situation one can opt for multiple daemons?
What about maximum_connections. Is it for all the server instances?
Thanks

Hi Peter,
Thank you very much
I got one more question
Do I need to change the table type to transaction-safe tables (InnoDB
and BDB) ?
AS I am going thru the manuals I read that tables should be of InnoDB
or BDB inorder to work for manual commit.
once again thanks in advance,
Devi
