Hi - I have read extensively the MySQL database security chapter in SAMS TY
MySQL - and I must be missing something.
I have allowed myself to connect from any host by adding a % kev record to
my users file and a 10.0.0.142 % record to my hosts file and a % % kev
to my db file - when I try and
Hello Tim,
Are you getting this regardless of what you put in user,host and db tables.
If you are I am getting the same thing. Any access to my database is denied
except from the console.
How did you install - from the rpm's ??
I will watch this thread as I am at a complete standstill with

The insert is conditioned on the select returning no data.
As I said it works on windows but not on Linux.

Hi everyone,
I've had
I missing something.
What entries do I need to make in the host file - is it the internal ip/name
or the external ip/name.
I know the webserver is ok because it connects ok to an AS/400 database
(DB2).
Thanks

Thanks anyway.

I have just done the same and my table looks like this...
===
CREATE DATABASE marketing;
CREATE TABLE bsafeLinks
(date DATE NOT NULL,
clicks INT(255) NOT NULL);
ALTER TABLE bsafeLinks
ADD PRIMARY KEY
