Yesterday I sent a message to the list regarding MySql/BDB support for
recovery procedures.

I could not make sense of the binary log and I could possibly use it in a
relativly straigth forward manner.

Anyway I have altered the MySql code to support the DB_FATAL_RECOVERY or
either DB_RECOVERY. In this way the BDB logs are used for recovery from an
incremental backup if needed, hot or whatever. It just seemed straight so
much easier to me.

I still dont see an 'easy' way with the binary log, unless someone could
point it out please.

I'm sure there must be some reason why this isnt used with the main distro
