....../var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock. I've been round the houses with this following the thread but I can't get past this error despite all the chmod and chown modifications, installed MySQL admin and it still won't start.
Am I best to chuck it in the bin or uninstall the lot and start again? This is Fedora Core 3 with MySQL 3.23.58-13. Any help gladly appreciated but its not obvious from the web site how to go beyond the chmod and chown fixes. What does the socks file do anyway?
