I somehow locked out the root account from MySQL. How can I get access back
as root on the Unix system?

I am having trouble launching MySql on a IBM AIX Unix platform. I type the
mysql command at the prompt and this is the error message I get back:
ERROR 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
What am I missing or what can I do to correct this problem. Plea
