Failed Config on Mac OSX

This is my first time installing MySQL.

I'm attempting to install MySQL on my Apple PowerBook G4 OSX 10.2.

After downloading and unpacking mysql-3.23.53.tar.gz, my attempt to run ./configure failed.

I'm including content from config.log, any help you might have would be appreciated.
