Hi, I'm trying to set up a small database server for our students to play with and ran into problems while creating accounts and granting rights.
I used insert into user (User, Host, Password, Insert_priv, Update_priv, Delete_priv, Create_priv, Drop_priv, Index_priv, Alter_priv) values ('someuser','%', PASSWORD('somepw'), 'Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y','Y'); flush priviliges; The new users can log in and can create new databases, but they can neither create tables inside the new database nor use show tables. Am I missing something (I read the online manual and came across some similar question, but no answer) - or do I really have to grant the rights to the individual databases by hand? sf ---- strangley enough neither of the words sql, query, queries, smallint is necessary to describe the problem, but they are required by the spamfilter --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
