mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed

I am getting the following error:

mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
> error: 'Access denied for user: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' (Using password: NO)'

if some one knows the answer . Pl. let me know.
